The key to a long, happy marriage may be matching credit scores

By Cathy DeWitt Dunn

The key to a long, happy marriage may be matching credit scores! Believe it or not, a new study looked at millions of couples over the last 13 years, and found those who married others with similar financial views were less likely to get a divorce.

That’s right. The study found people, especially in recent years, tend to marry others with similar credit scores. Couples with similar scores have a much greater chance of staying together than those who don’t. But it’s not black and white. Researchers also found couples who start with very different credit scores can increase their chances of staying together if their scores become more similar over time.
